Blog Entry

Well, I did it.  Today, I accepted a job in New York!

I'm shuffling off to ... Poughkeepsie!  Luckily, and pretty much because, I know the lady I'll be working for, the transition from MA to NY won't be too stressful.  It's still a bit surreal but I'm thrilled, excited, scared and so very much ready for the challenges that lay ahead.

Getting in on the ground floor of a small company (they went public just two years ago) that has an entrepreneurial spirit is a wonderful opportunity to grow as the company does!

Besides wanting to share the good news with my online buddies, I also wanted to assure my fellow Patriots' and Bruins' fans that I will not, under any circumstances, betray my teams!  The Jets, Giants, Bills, Sabres and Rangers?  Fuggedabowdit!

Hi Dawnie,

I know it's been almost a year since you've been at your new job, I just wanted to say congrats, this is the first time I read your blog. I was just wondering how was the transition at first moving from Boston to New York and how is it going now? Also how are things going with the new company your working for? Don't forget to rub it in to those Yankees fans when we kick their ass this season, even with Texeira on their team. Again good luck with your job and may God bless you.....GO RED SOX, BRUINS, PATRIOTS, CELTICS.....ETC....LOL

Hey congrats on what is now a not-so-new job.... too bad it's in NY, guys in New England are now at a loss :-(

What do you do with your entrepreneurial spirit anyways - sales? Good for you grabbing the opportunity - a lot of people don't know what the best thing is for them even it's smack in front of their eyes. I don't know if I call myself an entrepreneur, but I definitely like taking chances, especially when the bottom line is involved.

Hope to see you blog again soon; take care

Congrats, HomeSlice!  Good to hear you are happy with your career changes.  Hope all goes well for you.  Does this mean we will see less of you on the boards?  I hope not.  (Like I'm one to talk, huh? With my recent dissappearing act.)  Anyway, good luck, and congrats!

Dawn, just checking back in. Have you finally closed on the house or are you still commuting back and forth? Gas prices are a killer right now.  I hope you have finally settled in though, so you can be ready for the season to start for our beloved Patriots? Let me know how things are going.

Thanks for the recommendation, Poetz.  I haven't read any of his novels so I've put him at the top of my list for my next read.

 >>>What sport do the Red Foxes play?  <<<

They're pretty good in women's basketball, so-so in men's basketball.  I don't think they have a football team, but I'm sure they play all the other college sports.  Speaking of Albany, May I recommend to you, if you haven't already read them, the novels of William Kennedy, which are set in Albany.
